LAWYERS WITH EXPERTISE IN TEXTING & DRIVING CAR ACCIDENTS
TYPES OF DISTRACTED DRIVING
At our law firm, we represent victims of distracted driving accidents caused by:
- Texting while driving
- Using a cellphone or Smartphone
- Eating and driving
- Adjusting the radio
- Reading a map
- Grooming
- Applying makeup
- Talking to passengers
Sending a text message or dialing a phone number requires a driver to take his or her eyes off the road and hands off the wheel, thus endangering other drivers and passengers. The increased use of mobile devices has led to more roadway accidents. According to the NHTSA (the National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration), 21 percent of distracted drivers between the ages of 15 to 19 were distracted by the use of cellphones.
INDIANA TEXTING WHILE DRIVING LAW
Because of the alarming statistics of accidents caused by the use of mobile devices, the state of Indiana enacted a law in 2011 which bans texting while driving. According to Indiana law, it is illegal to use any telecommunications device to type, transmit or read a text message or email while operating a moving vehicle.
At Rob King & Associates, Trial Lawyers, our Indianapolis car accident lawyers understand how the law has been interpreted in local courts and can help you bring an action against negligent parties. We can help you obtain maximum compensation for the suffering you have had to endure as a result of the crash.
