DRUNK DRIVING ACCIDENT IN INDIANA RESULTS IN CIVIL CLAIM

When a vehicle is stopped at a traffic light, there are often other vehicles that are also stopped or slowing down in order to stop at the light. However, drivers who are approaching an intersection and are under the influence or otherwise impaired may not realize that the other cars are stopped. In such a situation, a drunk driving accident could result from a vehicle colliding with the rear of a stopped vehicle.

A similar situation recently took place in Indiana, and a personal injury claim has resulted. It was reported that the driver of an SUV was approaching an intersection where the traffic light was red when he collided with a vehicle that was stopped at the light. The SUV was moving at approximately 60 mph, and the initial collision resulted in two other vehicles being involved.

A 73-year-old driver was injured in the accident and taken to an area hospital for treatment. The driver of the SUV and the driver of the vehicle involved in the initial collision also suffered injuries in the crash. It was reported that at the time of the incident the SUV driver had a blood-alcohol level that was over the legal limit. At this time, there have not been any criminal charges filed, but presumably, it is likely that they will come about.

The 73-year-old man who was injured in the drunk driving accident has filed a claim against the driver of the SUV. As he struggles to move forward, he may want to better understand what evidence may be helpful in his search for compensation. Information on personal injury claim cases in Indiana may be beneficial.
