INDIANA ACCIDENT LEADS TO POSSIBLE BRAIN INJURY

When individuals are involved in a serious car accident, there is a considerable risk of severe injuries. If an individual suffers an injury to his or her head, there could be a chance that a brain injury could also result. Such an injury could cause an individual to face considerable hardships while recovering, including medical expenses. In the event of such a situation, an injured party may wish to consider seeking compensation.

Such a step may be taken after a serious car accident that recently took place in Indiana. It was reported that a car was traveling south when it failed to maintain the correct lane and crossed into the northbound lane. As a result, the car collided with an SUV traveling north. The collision caused the SUV to leave the roadway and come to a rest in a ditch.

The driver of the car was the only occupant, and the SUV had a driver and one passenger inside. All three individuals had to the removed from the vehicles. Both drivers were transported to the hospital for injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening. The passenger in the SUV suffered a serious head injury and was also transported for treatment.

The injury to the passenger’s head could potentially mean that she also suffered a brain injury. If that is the case, the Indiana car accident could have even more devastating consequences. Such injuries can take time for recovery, and medical bills can accumulate during that time. If the injured parties wish, they may be able to file personal injury claims against the driver considered at fault in order to pursue restitution for their pain and suffering, medical expenses and other allowable damages.
