Growing up, many children may wish that they had a dirt bike or motorcycle to operate for fun. In some instances, children may be given such a motorcycle, and parents likely place many safety rules regarding the use of the vehicle. Unfortunately, a motorcycle accidentcan still result from the use of a dirt bike, and serious injuries could be an outcome, especially if another vehicle is involved.

It was recently reported that an accident involving a dirt motorcycle and a van took place in Indiana. The report indicated that a 15-year-old boy was operating the motorcycle and had a 17-year-old passenger. The two were apparently riding at an intersection when the bike was hit by a van. The driver of the van did not stay at the scene of the crash.

The 15-year-old was transported to the hospital due to suffering a serious injury to his head. The passenger on the motorcycle was not injured in the accident. At this time, the driver of the van has not yet been located, but authorities are looking for a van that is silver or light brown in color and that likely has front end damage.

The parents of the teenager injured in the motorcycle accident are undoubtedly hoping that he is able to quickly and fully recover from his serious injuries. They are also likely hoping that the authorities are able to locate the driver of the van involved in the collision. Once the driver is found, the parents may wish to determine whether they could potentially file a personal injury claim. A civil claim against the party considered at fault could help them seek compensation for damages resulting from the Indiana accident.
